Chapter 1

It was the middle of March when I died. It was early, my friends and I were heading out to get to Florida with no troubles. Sam, my best schoolmate since grade school, took the wheel and I sat in the passenger seat. Maxwell and Thomson sat in the back of our 1963 Baby Blue Chevrolet Impala. We were heading to the beach for some parties, I was one of those girls that tag alone only because their friends were going. I'm not even compatible to Sam's record. She is a insane person, this is the reason why I'm dead. Along the highway, Sam stopped at the nearest gas station. I decided to look around for the moment, not know it would be my worst mistake ever. I walked to a closed game store, just looking in, when I left something behind me.
"Ain't no reason you should be here, little lady." The voice made me jump.
I turned to the man that soon will take my life. "Um, I'm sorry, Sir. I was just looking. I'll be going now." I started to walk away when he grabbed my arm.
"Would you like to come in? I use to love this store, and if you would like I'll be happy to open it up." He gave me a smile.
I returned the smile, "But I must be leaving my friends will be worried if I'm not back soon." I moved back from where the man was, "Thank you but I'm must be leaving."
As I tried walking away the man opened the wooden door of the game store, "Are you sure? You can walk in for just a moment and you can be on your way. What do ya' say?" His gesture was welcoming and my mind thought he was okay, old but okay.
"Alright, but I have to be back before my friends leave." Walking closer to him.
He laughed, "It won't take long," he held his hand out to me, "shall we?"
I placed my hand on his, "Alright." as we walked in I looked back at the last moments of my freedom.
